This school year, the North Carolina Homeless Education Program (NCHEP) & the North Carolina Foster Care Education Program (NCFCEP) are partnering to host the New Homeless Liaison & Foster Care POC Training for North Carolina’s charter and lab schools. Homeless liaisons and/or foster care POCs with two years or less experience should attend this required training.

Homeless liaisons are responsible for the collection of accurate homeless education data on students identified within their Local Education Agency (LEA). To ensure district compliance, NCHEP will hold End-of-Year (EOY) Data Submission Information Sessions for charter and lab homeless liaisons. This session will review the steps for submitting LEA data.
September 4, 2025 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Homeless liaisons with two years or less experience are required to attend this training. This professional development session is designed to build knowledge and capacity in alignment with the provisions of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
