    Compliance Forums are NCHEP’s annual meetings for homeless liaisons to expand their knowledge on the McKinney-Vento Act, as well as develop practices to support the needs of their students experiencing homelessness. Charter & lab school homeless liaisons must attend one of the four offered Charter School Compliance Forums.

Each session will focus on a specific topic that will enhance charter and lab school’s practices and policies and ensure compliance with federal law. This session will review the roles and responsibilities of appointed homeless liaisons as outlined in the McKinney-Vento Act.

  • Charter School End-of-Year (EOY) Data Submission Information Session

    Homeless liaisons are responsible for the collection of accurate homeless education data on students identified within their Local Education Agency (LEA). To ensure district compliance, NCHEP will hold End-of-Year (EOY) Data Submission Information Sessions for charter and lab homeless liaisons. This session will review the steps for submitting LEA data. 

  • Charter School Homeless Data Submission Deadline

    Homeless liaisons are responsible for the collection of accurate homeless education data on students identified within their Local Education Agency (LEA). The deadline to submit this data for charter and lab schools is May 31, 2026.  

  • Charter School Statewide Assessment Deadline

    Charter

    The NCHEP Annual Statewide Assessment is collected from LEAs every other year to gain a better understanding of the needs and for planning and reporting to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. The deadline to submit the Statewide Assessment is June 15, 2025. 

  • New Homeless Liaison Training for Charters

    The North Carolina Homeless Education Program (NCHEP) will be hosting the New Homeless Liaison Training for North Carolina’s charter and lab schools on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Homeless liaisons with two years or less of experience should attend this required training. 

  • NCHEP Data Collection Training for Charters

    Collection and submission of homeless data is required of all LEAs. This required training will review best practices for data collection and demonstrate how to accurately enter identified students experiencing homelessness into Infinite Campus.
