NCHEP will be conducting annual New Homeless Liaison Training sessions during September 2019. Separate training sessions will be held for new liaisons from regular LEAs and from charter schools as noted above. Those who are new homeless liaisons with 2 years’ or less experience for their LEA or charter school and who did not attend the new homeless liaison training held for LEAs or charter schools during the 2018-2019SY should participate in this all-day professional development training.

Please note: NCHEP recommends that each attendee plan to view the NCHE recorded webinar on McKinney-Vento 101: School Access and Stability under the McKinney-Vento Act.

Agenda topics will include:

  • Compliance with the McKinney-Vento Act
    • Transportation
    • Early Childhood Education
    • Higher Education (RDS)
  • Non-Regulatory Guidance from the U.S. Department of Education
